Inspection & Enforcement Officer
Location: Leicestershire Area - Croft / Mountsorrel
Contract: 6 months initially
Rate: £25-£30/hour (Umbrella)
Start: ASAP
Hybrid working: Will need to travel to conduct inspections
We are currently assisting a Local Authority who are seeking an experienced Inspection & Enforcement Officer to carry out highway inspections, enforce the Highways Act and environmental legislation, and help maintain the safety and integrity of the public highway.
Key Duties:
- Conduct routine and reactive highway inspections
- Record findings accurately using Confirm
- Enforce the Highways Act and Environmental Protection Act
- Respond to public enquiries and complaints
- Support legal claims and represent the Council in court as needed
- Liaise with the public, councillors, councils, and utility companies
- Ensure CDM 2015 compliance on relevant works
Requirements:
- Highways inspection/enforcement experience
- Working knowledge of the Highways Act and related legislation
- Strong communication and record-keeping skills
- Confident using Confirm or similar systems
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel
