Infrastructure/DevOps Lead - RedHat/VMWare/Kubernetes

IT Hosting/Provisioning Manager - sought by leading commodity trading firm based in London - Hybrid role Experience Required:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a high performing technical engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, ensuring robust, secure, and reliable platform operations.
• Oversee and optimize VMware vSphere environments, including capacity planning, lifecycle management, and performance tuning.
• Manage and support enterprise grade storage platforms such as PureStorage, ensuring data availability, performance, and integrity.
• Design, maintain, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters across hybrid environments.
• Work across both Azure cloud and on premises infrastructure, enabling seamless integration and operational consistency.
• Develop and maintain automation and orchestration workflows using PowerShell, Ansible, Git, and related DevOps tools.
• Ensure strong network reliability through solid understanding of firewalls, switching, routing, TCP/IP, WAN, and LAN technologies.

Skills:

• Expert-level Red Hat Linux administration skills.
• Expert-level VMware vSphere administration expertise.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise storage solutions, preferably PureStorage.
• Solid hands on experience with Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of hybrid environments (Azure + on prem).
• Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages.
• Experience with DevOps ecosystems including Ansible, Git, CI/CD practices.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals-firewalls, routing, switching, TCP/IP, WAN/LAN.
• Proven experience leading or managing a technical engineering team.
• Ability to think strategically, perform risk analysis, and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for all audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to build trust and maintain strong working relationships across the organization.
• Comfortable adapting to change and managing shifting priorities.
• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code deployments.
• Exposure to VMware Tanzu or Kubernetes platform services.
