Infrastructure Engineer (Contract)

Contract Length: 6 Months Location: Barnoldswick, Lancashire

Hybrid working: 3 days onsite per week Outside IR35 Start Date: Immediate

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT team on a 6-month contract. This role will play a key part in infrastructure modernisation, including server migrations, hypervisor platform management, and endpoint management across a hybrid environment. The successful candidate will also provide technical support and mentorship within the wider IT function.

Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Virtualisation

• Lead and support server migrations and upgrades
• Manage and support VMware and Nutanix hypervisor platforms
• Deliver and manage a hypervisor migration to Nutanix

Endpoint & Identity Management

• Administration and support of Microsoft 365, Intune, Autopilot, and Entra ID
• Device provisioning and lifecycle management

Networking & Security

• Implement and support network segmentation concepts such as VLANs

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in hybrid cloud infrastructure and system administration
• Proven hands on experience with VMware and Nutanix virtualisation technologies
• Solid background in Windows Server migrations and upgrades
• Experience implementing and maintaining network security
• Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant certifications such as MCSE, VCP, NCA, NCP, CCNA, or equivalent
• Previous experience in enterprise IT and hybrid cloud environments

Experience working within structured IT teams and change controlled environments
