Project Role: Infrastructure Administrator

Job Description: SCI Troubleshooting and Analysis Support

Purpose:

The Supplier provides advanced troubleshooting and technical expertise across Linux-based systems, virtualized compute infrastructure, and Kubernetes platforms to ensure the stability, availability, and performance of the internal cloud environment.

Scope of Work:

The Supplier delivers expert support in the following areas:

• Linux & OS Platforms: Troubleshooting OS, Kernel, and runtime issues, including custom OS images and system tuning
• Virtualization & Compute Infrastructure: Analysis and resolution of virtualization, VM, and infrastructure-level issues, including performance optimization
• Kubernetes Platforms: Troubleshooting control plane and cluster issues, supporting life cycle operations and platform integration

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Linux & OS Engineering

• Strong experience with Linux-based operating systems, preferably Debian or Debian-derived distributions
• Hands-on experience with custom OS images and life cycle management
• Ability to troubleshoot boot, Kernel, and performance-related issues
• Knowledge of system hardening, package management, and CI/CD-driven deployments

Virtualization & Infrastructure

• Solid understanding of virtualization and hypervisor concepts, preferably KVM-based
• Experience operating and troubleshooting virtual machines and infrastructure platforms
• Knowledge of virtual networking, storage, and hardware-assisted virtualization
• Strong skills in automation, Scripting, and performance tuning

Kubernetes & Platform Operations

• Deep understanding of Kubernetes concepts and cluster operations
• Experience with Kubernetes platform solutions, preferably Gardener or comparable systems
• Hands-on expertise in cluster life cycle management and incident troubleshooting
• Strong background in observability and root cause analysis

Start: ASAP - 1st March

Language: English (Fluent - Mandatory)

Location: Remote Work

Duration: 10months + (with likely further extensions)
