Information Technology Project Manager

Job Description: IT Project Manager - Applications/Development (MEDIOR OR SENIOR)

Location: Brussels (3 days per week onsite, 2 days WFH)

Contract Type: Freelance

Contract Duration: 12 months + potential extensions

Interview Process: 1-stage interview (1.5 hours); decision will be made shortly after the interview.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced IT Project Manager (Development & Applications) with strong knowledge of Scrum & Agile methodologies. You will play a critical role in facilitating Scrum ceremonies, managing multiple projects, and working closely with Java development teams. This role is ideal for a medior to senior-level professional with the ability to balance technical expertise with excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scrum Leadership: Take ownership of half of the Scrum meetings and daily roundups, ensuring smooth progress and adherence to Agile principles.
• Project Management: Lead and manage 4-5 projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with Java Development teams, understanding technical jargon (e.g., pipelines), and effectively managing sprint backlogs.
• Agile Knowledge: Utilize your in-depth knowledge of Agile frameworks, ensuring continuous improvement in processes and delivery.
• Communication: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Dutch is a significant bonus, as it will help in communication with local stakeholders.
• Onsite Collaboration: You will be required to work onsite in Diegem three days a week, with Tuesday being mandatory.

Qualifications:

• Certified Scrum Master: Must possess an in-depth understanding of Scrum and Agile methodologies with certification.
• Experience: Hands-on experience in managing IT development teams, particularly Java developers.
• Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple projects (4-5 at a time) in parallel.
• Language: English fluency is required; Dutch is a plus.
• Experience Level: This position is aimed at individuals with medior to senior-level experience.
