About the Role

Our client, a leading technology company based in Brussels, is seeking a seasoned AI Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade AI solutions. As a freelance expert, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation, shaping the future of AI within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the AI architecture strategy aligned with business goals
• Design scalable AI and ML systems, leveraging cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and business stakeholders
• Select and evaluate AI/ML frameworks, tools, and platforms
• Ensure AI models are production-ready, ethical, and explainable
• Define data requirements, model pipelines, and integration patterns
• Monitor and optimize deployed models for performance, accuracy, and scalability
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to internal teams

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as an AI/ML Architect or Lead AI Engineer
• Strong knowledge of AI/ML principles, model lifecycle, and MLOps best practices
• Hands-on experience with cloud services (Azure ML, AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI)
• Proficient in Python and common ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
• Familiarity with data engineering workflows and tools (Spark, Airflow, Databricks, etc.)
• Experience with GenAI, LLMs, or NLP is a strong plus
• Solid understanding of model governance, compliance, and responsible AI principles
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management abilities
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or similar

Nice to Have

• Experience with vector databases and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized ML workloads
• Prior experience working in a consulting or freelance setup
• Knowledge of European data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR)
