About the roleThe Individual Giving Manager will be responsible for leading Cool Earth's individual giving programme, with a focus on growing supporter acquisition and income. Managing a small team, they will oversee strategy development, budget management, and execution of multi-channel campaigns, ensuring strong supporter engagement and income diversification across regular giving, cash giving, payroll giving, and fundraising. This role requires a strategic and data-driven approach to fundraising, combined with effective team leadership and collaboration across fundraising and communications.
What you'll doFundraising
- Lead the development and implementation of the Individual Giving strategy, prioritising supporter acquisition and income growth
- Manage the Individual Giving budget and ensure fundraising targets are met through effective campaign delivery
- Oversee relationships with individual fundraisers, community groups, schools, and challenge participants to support their fundraising efforts
- Represent Cool Earth at events and in digital spaces to build supporter engagement and networks
- Develop and maintain a fundraising dashboard to track performance and support data-driven decision making
- Collaborate with the wider fundraising and communications teams to deliver integrated campaigns and supporter journeys
- Ensure accurate administration of online fundraising platforms and supporter data
Communications and Engagement
- Work with the Marketing and Communications team to develop engaging content and campaigns that attract, retain and inspire supporters
- Produce fundraising appeals and digital content, including social media posts, blogs, newsletters and supporter stories that communicate Cool Earth's impact
- Develop acquisition-led campaign plans that align with key moments and calendar events throughout the year
- Regularly review and improve supporter journeys and communications to strengthen engagement and lifetime value
- Analyse campaign and channel performance data, sharing insights and making recommendations to improve future activity
- Stay informed about emerging trends in digital fundraising, social media and donor engagement, ensuring Cool Earth's IG approach remains current and effective
Team Leadership and Administration
- Line manage the Individual Giving Officer, ensuring effective stewardship, database accuracy and supporter satisfaction
- Oversee the administration of contacts, campaigns and donor records within Salesforce, maintaining high standards of data integrity
- Ensure fundraising activities comply with relevant legislation and governance, including the Charities Act, Fundraising Regulator Code of Practice, Gambling Commission and GDPR
- Foster a collaborative working culture with the wider FUNCO team, encouraging innovation and shared learning
It is essential to us that you have/are the following:
- Proven experience building and growing individual giving programmes.
- Strong skills in data analysis, budgeting, and performance tracking.
- Experience delivering multi-channel fundraising campaigns.
- Confident people manager and effective team collaborator.
- Excellent written and digital communication skills.
- You're fluent in spoken and written English, and highly competent with Google and Microsoft Office tools.
- You have a genuine interest in and commitment to the humanitarian and environmental principles of Cool Earth.
- You're aligned with our values: "smart", "driven", "open", and "locally-led".
It would be great, but not essential, if you also have:
- Fluent written and spoken Spanish.
- Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
- Understanding of UK fundraising standards and GDPR.
- Awareness of digital and supporter engagement trends.
- Confident in representing an organisation externally.
- Experience working in a charity, NGO or values-led organisation.
- Experience in environmental or international development fundraising.
