Indirect Tax Director

Our client, a long-established and highly respected accountancy firm in Dublin, is seeking an Indirect Tax Director to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious tax professional who wants to advance their tax career in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and advise on VAT planning opportunities while acting as the primary point of contact for client VAT matters.
• Build, develop, and oversee team members, delegating work effectively and ensuring high-quality delivery.
• Monitor work in progress, manage profitability, and ensure efficient workflow across all VAT projects.
• Raise awareness of VAT issues internally, provide training, and collaborate with partners/managers to ensure client VAT matters are proactively managed.

Requirements

• CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent, with significant post qualification experience in indirect tax advisory.
• Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience within a practice environment.
• Proven experience leading teams, managing client portfolios, and delivering high quality advisory work in a practice environment.
• Deep knowledge of Irish and EU VAT legislation, complex VAT planning, cross border transactions, and revenue interventions.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, oversee WIP, ensure profitability, and deliver work to deadlines.
• Comfortable advising partners, shaping VAT strategy, and driving awareness of VAT issues across the firm.
