Agricultural Engineer - In House Maintenance & Repair Mechanic

A large scale farming operation in Perthshire is seeking an experienced In House Maintenance & Repair Mechanic / Agricultural Engineer to take ownership of all machinery maintenance and repairs across a circa 2,000 acre operation.

The Job

This is a senior, hands on role combining workshop based servicing with field breakdown support during peak periods, particularly harvest. You will be responsible for ensuring machinery reliability, minimising downtime and preparing specialist equipment ahead of busy seasons. Two experienced farm workers with mechanical knowledge will support during peak workloads.

Machinery includes tractors, trailers, sprayers, potato graders, handling equipment and specialist blackcurrant and potato harvesting machinery.

The Candidate

• Proven experience in agricultural machinery maintenance and repair
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault finding skills
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities
• Flexible approach to hours during harvest (paid overtime)
• Agricultural or mechanical engineering qualifications
• Experience with specialist harvesting machinery
• Welding, fabrication, or advanced hydraulic/electrical skills

The Package

• £40,000 - £60,000 per annum (hourly rate structure)
