Position Summary: The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating customer shipments and preparing the required import & export documentation, ensuring accuracy, timely processing and compliance with relevant import/export requirements and internal procedures. The role involves close coordination with customers, freight forwarders and customs brokers, as weel as supporting compliance and audit activities through accurate documentation and effective operational controls.
Main duties and responsibilities Shipment Coordination- Arrange and coordinate import and export shipments on behalf of customers.
- Liaise with freight forwarders to arrange the dispatch of goods and provide the required shipping documentation.
- Consolidate customer orders where appropriate to support efficient combined shipping.
- Coordinate with relevant parties to ensure shipments are processed effectively and required documentation is available.
- Prepare, review and issue relevant import and export documentation, including: Commercial Invoices; Packing Lists; Export Declarations; Certificates of Origin; Air Waybills; Bills of Lading.
- Prepare and issue relevant documentation required under Letters of Credit.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before it is issued or submitted.
- Ensure import and export documentation is prepared in accordance with applicable requirements and internal procedures.
- Maintain regular contact and coordination with customs brokers in relation to import and export shipments.
- Provide the documentation and information required to support customs processes.
- Support compliance with applicable import and export regulations through accurate documentation, operational support and adherence to internal control procedures.
- Review relevant documentation to identify and address inaccuracies or discrepancies that could affect customs or shipment processing.
- Support internal and external audits relating to import/export activities.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of relevant shipping and customs documentation as part of audit and compliance activities.
- Support the review of documentation against applicable regulatory and customs requirements.
- Follow established internal control procedures relating to import and export activities.
- Associates Degree in Relevant Discipline - Desirable

- Data analysis and Microsoft (Excel) skills a must.
- Previous hands-on experience in import/export procedures
- Strong knowledge of Letters of Credit, inspection certificates, Certificates of Origin, and export licenses
- Experience working with an ERP system (preferably Oracle)
- Proven experience handling customs compliance and regulatory documentation
