The Opportunity

We are working with a forward-thinking, Planet Mark Certified consultancy seeking a Building Performance Consultant to join their growing North West team, based in Liverpool.

This role is ideal for a technically strong IES modeller who enjoys analysing data, solving complex building performance challenges, and communicating practical solutions to clients. You will play a key part in supporting the company's commitment to measurable carbon reduction, including a targeted 5% decrease in overall emissions for 2024-25.

This is a hands on technical role within a business that takes sustainability seriously - both in its projects and its own operations.

What's On Offer
  • Salary up to £45,000
  • 5% employer pension contribution
  • Healthcare cash plan
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Death in service benefit
  • Retail discount scheme
  • Performance related tax free bonus (up to £3,600)

The expectation is full time office presence initially to support collaboration and integration into the team. Once established in the role, flexibility will be introduced.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Delivering detailed thermal and energy modelling using IES VE
  • Producing clear, well structured technical reports for clients and internal teams
  • Attending meetings to explain modelling outputs and recommend performance improvements
  • Supporting design teams with evidence based energy and carbon reduction strategies
  • Contributing to internal carbon reporting and wider sustainability initiatives
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out Part L compliance modelling and dynamic simulation modelling
  • Assess overheating risk and building performance against relevant regulations
  • Interpret modelling data and translate it into actionable design recommendations
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, architects and project stakeholders
  • Keep up to date with building regulations, compliance standards and emerging best practice in low carbon design
What We're Looking For
  • 3-4 years' experience in building performance or thermal modelling
  • Strong working knowledge of IES VE and building physics principles
  • Confident communicator, comfortable explaining technical findings to non technical audiences
  • Motivated individual with a genuine interest in sustainability and performance led design
  • Relevant degree in Building Services, Engineering, Architecture or similar (preferred)

If you're looking to join a consultancy that combines strong technical delivery with a genuine environmental commitment, this could be the next step in your career.
