What's the role?

The role is predominantly field-based, working independently and reporting to the Operations Manager. You will join a team of 30 similar roles, with daily travel to customer sites, scheduled weekly. Support is provided by a Field Coach and head office in Cardiff.

The salary from April 1, 2025, is up to £45,188 depending on experience. You will work 40 hours per week, with flexible patterns and potential overtime in evenings or weekends. Company van, fuel card, uniform, tools, and PPE are provided.

We are recruiting in areas including MPAN 16: M, WA, SK, BB, and BL postcodes.

As an I&C Field Metering Engineer, your responsibilities include:

  • Installation and maintenance of various metering systems (AMR, Whole Current, Low and High Voltage, Half Hourly Meters)
  • Restoration of communications and data retrieval
  • Customer interaction at site
  • Delivering products, prioritising health and safety, and ensuring high customer service standards

This role is key in delivering Half-hourly and AMR metering, supporting compliance and data management for SMS.

Key responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain Low and High Voltage meters
  • Support AMR and Half Hourly business operations
  • Perform communication testing and compliance paperwork
  • Coordinate with the support team and manage stock

Candidate requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient IT skills
  • Experience in metering industry and understanding of metering solutions

Essential Qualifications: EUSR registration for up to Three Phase Whole Current

Desired Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installations or equivalent
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • C&G or equivalent qualification
