Job description:
Requirements:
Support biosafety activities across laboratory and production environments, ensuring full compliance with Swiss regulations and international standards.
Develop and implement biosafety concepts in line with Swiss legislation (ESV, SAMV, GTG)
Ensure compliance with Biosafety Level 1-4 standards across relevant facilities
Conduct risk assessments for biological agents and GMOs and define appropriate control measures
Act as the main contact for authorities (FOEN and cantonal bodies), including preparation and submission of permits and notifications
Plan and deliver biosafety training sessions for employees
Perform inspections and audits, including documentation and corrective action plans
Provide expert guidance to research and production teams on biosafety topics
Support the continuous improvement of biosafety systems and processes
Competences:
Completed degree (MSc or PhD) in Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or similar
Experience working with biological agents in a regulated environment
Strong knowledge of Swiss biosafety legislation (ESV, SAMV, GTG)
Experience with Biosafety Levels 1-4 and containment strategies
Background in regulatory affairs and communication with authorities
Understanding of GMP/GLP environments is a plus
