Job Description
Overview 
HSE Advisor (Health & Safety) - Huntingdon Office. Hybrid role with home/office/onsite visits. Permanent full time. Salary to £47,700 DOE, inc. Car Allowance plus excellent package.
The role is with a reputable facilities management contractor providing building maintenance and services to clients across the UK. This is a regional role requiring travel throughout the assigned region.
Responsibilities- Assist in the management and delivery of an effective Corporate Health and Safety service to ensure the business meets statutory responsibilities and provides a safe working environment for employees, clients and others affected by the undertaking, in compliance with company policy and procedures.
- Liaise with Project Managers to identify and facilitate the management of health and safety on projects.
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive range of training programmes related to health and safety management to ensure operational management and all employees are trained and aware of their responsibilities.
- Coordinate the maintenance of documented health and safety procedures, including hazard and risk assessments for all activities.
- Undertake accident investigations and prepare accurate reviews with appropriate recommendations.
- Monitor changes to legislation and developments and develop strategies for their implementation where necessary.
- Evaluate issues and formulate practical solutions.
- Attend training courses as necessary to ensure personal and team skills keep pace with developments.
- Undertake surveys, on-site audits, training and consultancy for third-party clients.
- Ensure major accident investigations are commenced within 1 working day of request.
- Conduct site visits (minimum once per site every 3 weeks; urgent site visits within 24 hours).
- Provide accident investigation reports within 2 working days of investigation commencement.
- Develop procedures in response to legislation and good practice, with drafts developed within 6 weeks of request.
- Undertake a programme of inspections; issue inspection reports to senior management within 24 hours of site visit.
- Provide specific training for departments tailored to stakeholder needs.
- Attend quarterly Health & Safety team meetings.
To be considered for the QSHE Advisor role:
- You will have experience in commercial building maintenance HSE works.
- You will hold a minimum NEBOSH qualification and be CMIOSH; we would consider TechIOSH and GradIOSH with a view to progressing to chartered membership once employed.
- You will be ambitious and a strong team player with the ability to communicate across all levels and support internal teams on all matters.
- This is a regional role requiring flexibility and travel throughout the assigned region.
- Salary to £47,700 DOE including car allowance.
- Hybrid role - St Helens Office; Home/Office/On the road - site visits.
- Monday - Friday; 33 days annual leave.
