The HS Math Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and delivering instruction to various ability levels. The teacher will demonstrate supplementary content knowledge and assist students in accurately listening, writing, speaking, and reading at the various student levels.
Duties and Responsibilities- Conductan organized and professional classroom.
- Plan and implement the approved Core Knowledge and College Prep curriculum.
- Model and foster independent thinking, creative problem-solving, and abstract reasoning.
- Show empathy and understanding for students.
- Communicate consistently and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Developa cooperative partnership with parents and students based on mutual respect and objectivity.
- Assessstudent performance frequently and objectively.
- Facilitate the resolution of problems that might arise with students and parents.
- Promote accountability for students.
- Execute effective classroom management through clear expectations and positive relationships.
- Instructional and technological competency.
- Knowledge of and adherence to approved communication pathways.
- Actively pursueprofessional development opportunities.
- Participate in and contribute to programs and activities that enhance Prospect Ridge Academy outside of instructional hours.
- Follow policies established by the PRA Board of Directors, Adams 12 School District, and Colorado State-mandated school guidelines, except where PRA has received waivers.
- Demonstrate supplementary content knowledge by teaching an elective course related to the core-subject course.
- Create college prep, engaging lessons for a variety of students.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Related Work Experience- B.A. or M.A. in education or secondary math is required.
- Must meet the state certification requirements within the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
- Demonstrated experience in the instruction of students with varied learning styles and levels of mastery.
- Commitment to Core Knowledge curriculum.
- Commitment to the implementation of Character Education and Positive Behavior System.
- Read and interpret documents such as rules, policy, and expectations, agreements, rubrics, scope and sequence documents, and assessments.
- Speak effectively before groups of staff, students, Board of Directors, Administrators, and parents.
- Understand and carry out written, oral, or diagram form instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various groups.
- Ability to apply an entrepreneurial outlook and a charter school commitment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate different tasks.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills while working with a diverse population.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and to be self-motivated.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Vision abilities required include close vision, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability tofocus.
- Provide backup assistance and coverage for other areas.
- Work is occasionally performed outside with exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Work hours may occasionally be extended.
