Job Description

Are you a passionate HR professional who enjoys variety, building strong client relationships, and making a real difference? Join our amazing team and play a key role in supporting clients with pragmatic, people-focused HR advice.

Why join us

WorkNest, part of the wider Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) division owned by Axiom GRC, is continuing to grow at pace, and we're excited to be recruiting for a new HR Consultant to join our team.

WorkNest Group brings together experts across Employment Law, HR, Health & Safety, Cybersecurity, ISO, and Compliance, combining pragmatic advice with innovative technology solutions. Recent acquisitions including Bulletproof, Pentest People, IMSM, and Wirehouse have accelerated our growth across UK and global markets, creating exciting opportunities for our people as we continue to expand.

In this role, you'll support and manage a portfolio of retained and project-based clients, providing practical, tailored HR advice and documentation across a broad range of generalist HR matters. From employee relations and organisational change to policy development and performance support, you'll help clients confidently navigate people challenges while delivering commercially focused and legally compliant solutions.

It's a fantastic opportunity to further develop your HR consultancy career, with real variety in your work, exposure to different sectors and businesses, and the support of a collaborative and experienced team behind you every step of the way.

What We Offer
  • Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 per annum

  • Great benefits

  • Hybrid working arrangements

  • Flexible working location with preference for candidates based in the Midlands area

  • Supportive and inclusive work culture

  • Real opportunities to grow your HR career

What we're looking for

We're looking for a friendly, knowledgeable, and proactive HR Consultant to join our growing team. You'll be the go to expert for a portfolio of clients, offering practical, tailored advice across a wide range of HR matters including employee relations, absence management, disciplinary and grievance processes, organisational change, redundancy, and family friendly rights.

You'll support clients with everything from drafting contracts, policies, and staff handbooks to calculating holiday and redundancy entitlements, conducting investigations, supporting hearings, and delivering training where required. No two days are the same, and you'll work closely with colleagues to ensure we continue delivering excellent service, even during busy periods or when colleagues are away.

This is a brilliant opportunity to build trusted relationships with clients and genuinely make an impact within their organisations. You'll also contribute to account management, process improvements, and promoting the wider range of WorkNest and Axiom GRC services where appropriate.

You'll be encouraged to continue growing professionally through ongoing learning and development, with plenty of support from a warm, collaborative team that shares knowledge and celebrates success together.

If you're passionate about HR, enjoy variety in your work, and thrive in a fast paced, people focused environment, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

About You

To thrive in this role, you'll bring solid generalist HR experience gained either in-house or within a consultancy environment, along with strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.

You'll be confident advising on a broad range of HR matters including disciplinary and grievance processes, redundancy, absence management, contracts, policies, and family friendly rights. You'll also be comfortable managing competing priorities, working at pace, and building strong relationships with a variety of clients and stakeholders.

Strong attention to detail, commercial awareness, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving will be key to your success in this role. Confidence with calculations such as pro rated holiday entitlements and redundancy calculations, alongside strong communication and organisational skills, are also essential.

We're looking for someone who is collaborative, proactive, and genuinely passionate about delivering an outstanding client experience.

Desirable experience includes:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification

  • Education sector experience or knowledge

  • Training delivery experience

  • Knowledge of HR systems
