HR Business Partner

MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with a leading organisation to recruit an HR Business Partner on a 12-month specified purpose contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong people first culture, supporting a large operational workforce across multiple sites in Northern Ireland.
The roleWorking closely with senior operational leaders, you will provide commercially focused HR support across the full employee lifecycle while helping to drive engagement, performance and organisational effectiveness.
The main responsibilities- Partner with operational leadership teams to deliver proactive, commercially focused HR support.
- Coach and advise managers on employee relations, industrial relations, performance management, engagement, succession planning and organisational development.
- Build positive working relationships with trade union representatives and support collective consultation and industrial relations activity.
- Lead on complex employee relations cases and provide expert employment law guidance.
- Support organisational change initiatives and culture development across multiple operational sites.
- Work alongside specialist recruitment teams to support hiring and onboarding activity.
- Review workforce planning requirements and support payroll and resource planning processes.
- Lead and contribute to wider HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive engagement initiatives and support managers in creating high-performing teams.
- Champion best practice HR policies, procedures and people management standards.
- Similar experience in an HR Generalist role.
- Strong experience supporting managers within a fast paced operational environment.
- Proven industrial relations experience, including working with recognised trade unions.
- Strong employee relations knowledge with experience managing complex casework.
- Strong working knowledge of NI employment law, with proven experience providing HR advice and guidance in line with NI employment legislation.
