Key Responsibilities of the HR Business Partner:
  • Partner with managers to deliver people strategies that support both immediate and long-term business goals
  • Lead on a wide range of employee relations cases, from investigation through to outcome and appeal
  • Coach and support line managers on performance, absence, conduct, and capability
  • Support organisational change initiatives including restructures, shift changes, and contract changes
  • Drive engagement, development, and retention initiatives across a diverse and ageing workforce
  • Manage and improve onboarding, training, and development programmes
  • Ensure performance management processes are embedded and effective
  • Contribute to HR reporting, analysing trends in absence, turnover, and performance
  • Support payroll processes and ensure compliance across HR systems
  • Build strong working relationships with employees, managers, and representatives where applicable
  • Deputise for the HR Manager when required
Key Skills & Experience required:
  • Proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within a site-based, operational or manufacturing environment
  • Strong employment law knowledge and confidence managing complex ER cases
  • Experience working in a unionised environment is highly advantageous
  • CIPD Level 5 (minimum) or working towards
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with evolving systems
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions

If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely influence change, build capability, and make an impact on both people and performance - this is worth a conversation.
