  • You'll play a key role in driving organisational change, supporting workforce planning, managing complex employee relations matters and ensuring people initiatives align with commercial objectives.
  • Supported by our wider UK HR team based in Oxford, you'll act as a trusted advisor across a diverse workforce spanning engineering, manufacturing, technical and commercial functions.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Partnering with leaders to develop and deliver people plans that support business performance and growth.
  • Support people-related alignment across business units, helping teams adopt Lucy Group ways of working, governance, culture and operating rhythm in a practical and considered way.
  • Provide expert advice on employee relations, organisational change, performance, conduct, absence and capability matters.
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning and organisational design activities.
  • Drive engagement, retention and leadership effectiveness across the business.
  • Leading and embedding key HR processes including performance management, salary reviews and talent planning.
  • Using HR data and insights to influence decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with Recruitment, Learning & Development, and wider HR colleagues to deliver consistent people outcomes.
  • Support business transformation, culture initiatives and the adoption of new ways of working.
What We're Looking For
  • We're seeking an experienced HR professional who combines strategic thinking with a hands on approach.
Essential Experience
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified as a minimum (Level 7 desirable)
  • Significant HR Business Partnering experience within complex or changing organisations.
  • Experience supporting multiple sites and business units.
  • Strong employee relations expertise and up-to-date UK employment law knowledge.
  • Proven experience supporting organisational change, transformation or restructuring programmes.
  • Experience partnering with leaders within manufacturing, engineering, infrastructure, technology or operational environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively.
  • Ability to balance strategic priorities with practical, site-based delivery.
Location & Travel
  • This role is part-time, 3 days per week on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.
  • You'll work in a hybrid site-based model, spending 2 days per week in Newcastle & 1 day per week in Sowerby Bridge.
  • There is flexibility within this according to business needs.
  • Occasional travel to our Oxford headquarters may also be required.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential, as regular travel between locations forms a key part of the role.
Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact across several growing businesses within a respected international engineering and infrastructure group. You'll work closely with senior leaders, influence organisational change, and help build high-performing teams that support the future of energy, electrical infrastructure and EV technology in the UK.
