Are you a confident, hands-on HR professional, looking for an opportunity to partner and support a group of business clients at Thomson Reuters on a fixed term contract? Thomson Reuters is a global enterprise Company, requiring an HR Advisor to work together in a cohesive and collaborative manner to drive the strategic people agenda.

We are looking for an HR Advisor responsible for providing specialist support to all employees via email, phone, or face-to-face in relation to their aligned business groups. You'll act as the HR service delivery first point of contact for employees, offering guidance and answers to their queries. You will have ownership of an area of expertise (Immigration/Visa, Sickness/Occupational Health, or Leave of Absences/Family Friendly) according to the team's business unit remit. You will support UKI projects or contribute to local UKI initiatives to improve our Service Delivery function as needed.

Please note, this role is a maternity cover.

About the Role

As our HR Advisor, you will:

  1. Provide guidance to managers and employees on local policies and procedures.
  2. Act as a knowledge expert in a specific field, either Immigration, Sickness & Occupational Health, or Leave of Absences & Family Friendly policies, partnering closely with the UKI People Face to Face team within your specific field.
  3. Manage low to medium Employee Relations cases, supported by the local ER Specialist.
  4. Collaborate with the HR Partner team to design and deliver training on HR Policies, Procedures, and Workday to enhance Manager and Employee capabilities.
  5. Serve as the centre of expertise for benefits-related queries.
  6. Assist with drafting redundancy documentation when volume demands.
  7. Respond to queries regarding the Workday system (e.g., navigation).
  8. Liaise with payroll to ensure timely changes.
  9. Contribute to HR projects and overall objectives.
  10. Ensure employee files are maintained in compliance with Data Protection legislation.
About You

To be our HR Advisor, you will likely have:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience as a HR Generalist, preferably in a HR Shared Service environment.
  • Knowledge and experience using Workday.
  • Experience contributing to HR initiatives in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • A business, HR, or relevant university degree (preferred).
  • Strong IT skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and assist others.
  • Effective interviewing and questioning skills, risk evaluation, and policy implementation.
