Job Description

Responsibilities

Provide expert advice and guidance in line with HR practices and procedures.
Manage employee relations cases such as performance and absence management, disciplinary and grievance procedures, and conduct investigations when necessary.
Coach managers on best practice, interpret UK employment law, and manage casework from start to finish.
Deliver HR introduction training to new managers.
Support occupational health referrals and maintain strong relationships with union and site representatives.
Collaborate with the wider HR team on company and HR objectives.
Provide support on change management, complex employee relations, and policy overhauls.

Qualifications

Proven experience managing a varied and demanding employee relations caseload within a fast paced environment.
Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application.
Experience providing expert advice and guidance to managers on policy interpretation and case management from start to finish.
Experience supporting managers through organisational change initiatives.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coach, influence, and appropriately challenge stakeholders.
Accountability for your own workload, with the ability to manage priorities independently and to escalate complex or high risk matters when needed.
A proactive, solutions focused approach with the initiative to identify process improvements and resolve issues effectively.
Experience delivering HR training sessions or workshops.
Strong organisational skills, with experience maintaining accurate case logs, tracking absence data, and prioritising project work.
Commitment to your own professional development, actively seeking opportunities to build capability and knowledge.
Experience working within a unionised environment is highly advantageous.
A CIPD Level 5 qualification is preferred, or equivalent experience.
