HR Advisor (Permanent)

Location: Taunton (with travel to local offices across Taunton, Exeter, Yeovil, Minehead and surrounding areas - car essential) Salary: £35,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

About the Role

We're looking for a proactive and people-focused HR Advisor to join a busy, friendly, and supportive HR team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong HR foundation who is ready to take the next step into an advisory role or an experienced HR Advisor who is looking for a new opportunity.

Full training and ongoing support will be provided by an experienced HR Manager, making this a rare and exciting development opportunity within a welcoming organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies
  • Manage a varied employee relations caseload, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters
  • Support managers with sickness absence management, return-to-work processes, and wellbeing initiatives
  • Assist with recruitment processes, including preparing offers, contracts and onboarding documentation
  • Support probation reviews, contractual changes, and leaver processes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within the HR system
  • Contribute to the development and review of HR policies and procedures
  • Support wider HR projects and initiatives as required
  • Promote best practice and consistency in people management across the organisation

About You

  • Previous experience in an HR Officer, HR Advisor, or senior administrative role within HR
  • Confident communicator with the ability to advise, influence, and build relationships with managers at all levels
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively
  • Full driving licence and access to a car (essential due to travel requirements)

Desirable

  • CIPD qualified or working towards (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced or evolving organisation
