Job Description

HR Administrator - Maternity Cover
DBS Level: Basic

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and organized HR Administrator to join our team at the Local Care Direct Bradley Office on a 12-month fixed term contract. Working Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of an efficient, high quality HR service.

Location: Local Care Direct, Unit 14, Longbow Close, Bradley, Huddersfield, HD2 1GQ

About the Role

As HR Administrator, you will provide comprehensive administrative support across the employee lifecycle, helping to ensure HR processes are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in line with organisational policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support onboarding, contractual changes, and employee record management.
  • Act as a first point of contact for HR queries, escalating where required.
  • Maintain HR systems and records, ensuring data accuracy and GDPR compliance.
  • Assist with high volume HR activity, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Support absence management processes and related documentation.
  • Work closely with managers and the wider HR team to coordinate services.
  • Maintain a proactive, customer focused approach.
  • Provide administrative support for HR projects and service improvements.
About You Qualifications
  • Level 4 English (GCSE Grade C or equivalent)
Experience
  • Administrative experience in a busy, customer focused environment
Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal confidently with managers and staff at all levels
  • Good organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Strong team working skills to support HR team members in delivering an effective HR service
  • Professional and confidential approach to responsibilities
  • Ability to anticipate wider consequences of decisions and know when to elevate
  • Ability to adopt a structured approach and follow systems and processes
  • Ability to work under pressure
Knowledge
  • Experience of dealing with a wide and diverse range of administrative issues
  • Experience of working in an HR function
Desirable Qualifications
  • Level 4 and above in English and Maths (GCSE Grade C or equivalent)
  • Up to date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
  • Knowledge and understanding of pensions, ideally the NHS Pension Scheme
