Housing Solicitor

Salary: £37,500-£45,000 (DOE)

Location: Wigan (Hybrid)

Job Type: Full-time

A leading, modern Legal 500 law firm is expanding its specialist Housing team and is seeking an experienced Housing Solicitor with strong service charge expertise.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking, commercially focused practice with a national reputation for delivering practical legal solutions and exceptional client service.

The Role

You will manage a varied caseload involving service charge disputes and recovery, advising a diverse portfolio of commercial clients, landlords and accommodation providers. The role offers genuine progression, a supportive team environment and exposure to high-quality work across multiple residential sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling service charge disputes and recovery
  • Advising on service charge legislation, lease interpretation and liability issues
  • Managing service charge arrears, pre-action work and court proceedings
  • Supporting wider housing litigation matters including possession and tenancy disputes
  • Delivering commercially focused advice to landlords, accommodation providers and property businesses

Ideal Candidate

  • Demonstrable experience in service charge matters
  • Background in housing, landlord & tenant, property litigation, or residential property
  • Strong understanding of service charge legislation and the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)
  • Excellent drafting, organisational and case management skills
  • Commercially aware, client-focused and proactive
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
