Role OverviewTo provide a critical service in 24-hour short-term residential services to adult men, women experiencing homelessness. Those living with us are placed with the aim of assisting them to secure a long-term home while ensuring all supports and personal attributes required to sustain their home are put in place. We are committed to delivering the highest standard of care possible and working closely with other colleagues in care planning and case management in line with the DRHE Pathways Model.
Our services are challenging environments as we seek to achieve an inclusive approach working with people with complex issues. This role is completely client focused consistently seeking the best outcome for those we work for.
Key Responsibilities- Implement the case management system and engage in one-to-one work with a specific allocated caseload from referral stage to disengagement, including HNA assessment, developing a comprehensive support plan, updating the PASS system, advocating on behalf of the client, arranging meetings, linking the client into appropriate services, and assisting each client in finding a long-term home.
- Build professional trusting relationships with individual service users, treating them with dignity and respect, and working within the values of Crosscare.
- Support residents to establish tenancies by identifying suitable properties, including searching publications and websites, contacting and visiting landlords and letting agencies, arranging and accompanying residents to viewings, and negotiating with landlords where appropriate. Ensure the property meets safety standards and is well maintained.
- Assist residents with Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) paperwork and understanding tenancy agreements and rent agreements before taking up a tenancy.
- Accompany residents to tenancy signing and refer each resident to appropriate tenancy sustainment programmes such as CLAN, SLI, Hail, etc.
- Carry out all duties connected with the operation of a residential service, resolving conflict, responding to health issues, premise management, taking referrals, welcoming, and engaging with residents.
- Liaise with and advocate to a broad range of external service providers in addition to internal services.
- Work effectively as part of a team and be open to reasonable requests from the Project Leader/Deputy to ensure effective working relationships and responses to residents.
- Work within the policies of Crosscare and the standard operating procedures of the project.
- Assist and contribute to the quality agenda to ensure consistent delivery of service and adherence to quality standards.
- Perform all administrative duties related to the role to ensure the project runs smoothly.
- Observe all Health & Safety policies of the project and be involved in continual quality improvement, ensuring the security of the building is maintained day and night.

- Option 1: BA Degree in Applied Social Care, Addiction, Mental Health, Nursing, Psychology, or an equivalent Level 7 qualification awarded under the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) / QQI.
- Option 2: Minimum of a Level 6 qualification in Social Care or Addiction, awarded under the NFQ / QQI.
Work experience and employment in homeless services, addiction services, residential services, community and/or the youth work sector.
- At least 1 year of relevant employment working with a similar client group.
- Internal candidates: At least 6 months of relevant employment working with a similar client group.
Due to the nature of the role, you will be expected to complete physically demanding tasks as required (including use of stairways for ascending and descending due to services being multi-level), performing First Aid and CPR, and administering life-saving medication such as Naloxone, among others).
