About the roleHaringey Council's housing delivery team and aftercare service is leading on the delivery of one of the Council's top priority programmes. Our programme covers a broad range of housing schemes, from small infill sites to large, complex development projects. With work underway or completed on over 2,000 homes and a pipeline of new schemes to progress we are looking for a person to oversee the engagement activities (including running consultation and engagement processes) essential to the programme as well as deliver the sales element for the new programme and support our aftercare service, a new team which is responsible for managing our new council homes for an initial period after our new tenants. This is an exciting role within an ambitious and supportive team who are focused on delivering the first Council homes for a generation and providing our residents with real choice and opportunity.
About the teamWorking within the housing delivery team and aftercare service who are delivering the first council homes in a generation, you will engage with residents and external partners and should thrive in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, you will collaborate with colleagues across the organisation, including Members and senior leaders. We seek self-motivated and organised individuals with a keen eye for detail to join our established team
About youWe are looking for someone with an understanding of newly built and refurbished homes and the repairs and defects that can arise, as well as being able to provide coordination between residents, contractors and wider stakeholders to action tasks appropriately. Strong contract management skills are also required, as the successful candidate will be responsible for managing databases and record keeping related to the management of our new homes.
Ideally with a background in housing, you will be able to deal with the challenge of a reactive service supporting our residents in their new homes. We need a strong communicator who can work effectively and manage a varied caseload, whilst ensuring compliance and contractual requirements are met. The role requires a self-starter who works well on own initiative and as part of a team, as you will be expected work collaboratively with other departments and with our contractors, and make informed decisions.
