HousekeeperAn exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic Housekeepers to join our wards across Colchester Hospital and Paediatrics department in Ipswich Hospital. We welcome applications from passionate individuals with or without prior healthcare experience who are eager to build a career in the NHS and provide a quality service on our wards.
You will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, reliable and adaptable.
We have 22.5 hours in Gynaecology department in Colchester.
30 hours in Paediatrics in Colchester and Ipswich hospital.
30 hours in Neonatal Unit in Colchester.

Main duties of the job- To work as an integral part of the team ensuring a high quality service to patients.
- To be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities in the ward area ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment. Other tasks may include those to meet individual patient's needs as determined by the Ward Sister and to liaise with support services departments.
- To assist the Ward Sister to ensure the appropriate and effective delivery of facilities services in order to properly maintain the patient environment.
- The post holder will have the responsibility for maintaining high standards of cleanliness of clinical ward equipment specified and the cleanliness of areas where the equipment is stored and those areas that fall outside of the Sodexo contract.
- Has previously worked with public in private/public sector
- Dealing with public on day to day basis
- Has previously worked in a healthcare environment
- Good standard of numeracy and literacy
- Educated to GCSE / NVQ or equivalent qualifications
- Polite and courteous
- Able to organise workload effectively
- Able to work without supervision
- Good team player
