Horticulture Sales Executive

Got a passion for plants and great people skills?

Want to join a respected, growing wholesale nursery with a reputation for quality?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a long-established wholesale grower supplying a wide range of plants to landscapers, designers, and trade customers nationwide.

They're growing, literally and figuratively, and are looking for a confident, plant-savvy individual to fill their brand-new Sales Executive role.

What's in it for you?

  • Competitive salary (DOE)
  • Annual discretionary bonus (typically 5-10% of salary)
  • 20 days holiday + bank holidays (with two-week Christmas shutdown)
  • Great working hours (7:30 am-4:00 pm)
  • Full-time, permanent role with genuine stability and development opportunities
  • Join a friendly, supportive team where you'll be valued for your knowledge and initiative.

The Role

As a Sales Executive, you'll be part of a small, knowledgeable team working with trade customers across the UK.
This is a busy, varied role with a mix of sales, customer service, and stock management responsibilities.

Day-to-day, you'll:

  • Communicate with customers via phone and email, processing orders and managing expectations.
  • Handle face-to-face sales with visitors on site (appointments and drop-ins)
  • Support trade customers ranging from experienced landscapers to newcomers in horticulture.
  • Advise on plant suitability, specifications, and availability.
  • Help coordinate dispatch and ensure orders are processed accurately.
  • Update stock levels and manage data across 9,000+ lines using their in-house system (training provided).
  • Assist with stock control and occasional physical tasks like helping load smaller orders.
  • Collaborate closely with the wider sales and operations teams to keep everything running smoothly.

This isn't a cold-calling or business development role - customers come to you. It's about building trust, understanding their needs, and guiding them to the right plants.

About You

  • You'll have experience working in a commercial nursery, garden centre or plant sales environment.
  • Confident communicator who enjoys building relationships and managing multiple enquiries.
  • Comfortable talking to plants with a range of customers - from expert landscapers to those still learning.
  • Solid computer literacy with the ability to pick up new systems quickly.
  • Hands on and proactive - you're as comfortable walking the nursery as you are handling customer calls.
  • Organised, accurate, and calm under pressure.
  • Team player who takes pride in excellent service and a job well done.
