Product Engineering at JLR is centered on innovation and creativity. From advanced driver assistance systems to developing the future of electric propulsion, the opportunities to create exceptional experiences for the future of motoring are wide-ranging. You'll work alongside industry experts to drive product strategy, manage programs, analyze performance, and lead transformation initiatives. Exceptional careers that bring world-renowned vehicles to life start here.

The Body Systems, Software, and HMI Domain is responsible for various customer-facing technologies. Within this domain, the HMI Systems team has been expanding its role as part of a new electrical architecture platform for subsequent deployments across Jaguar and Land Rover models.

A new Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) cockpit controller module is under development, underpinning the future strategy. This has led to an expansion and a need to strengthen the existing systems engineering and architecture capabilities to specify and support end-to-end in-house software development for HMI features and products.

The successful candidate will join the HMI Systems team (part of Product Engineering) on this journey through the rollout of advanced functionalities.

What to Expect

The HMI Systems Product Owner (PO) will lead a multidisciplinary systems engineering team responsible for defining the structure and behavior of HMI functionality for current and future vehicle architectures.

The successful candidate will:

  • Own, prioritize, and manage the Product Backlog at the story level, ensuring transparency, visibility, and understanding.
  • Create and maintain a product roadmap based on stakeholder needs, defining backlog stories as required outcomes to empower the squad to derive solutions.
  • Assess and clarify the impact, business criticality, and timescales of risks and issues across squads, communicating risks, issues, and opportunities within the wider business.
  • Identify, understand, and influence key stakeholders, balancing their needs with those of the customer.
  • Collaborate with Chapter Leads on resource planning to ensure the squad has the necessary skills and expertise to deliver a successful product.
What You'll Need
  • A strong background in Systems Engineering, including system definition, architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modeling, systems integration, assessment, and acceptance.
  • High proficiency in model-based systems engineering tools and techniques, such as SysML/UML (preferably Catia Magic System of Systems Architect, or Enterprise Architect/Rhapsody/Simulink).
  • Relevant experience with Agile frameworks and Scrum tools like JIRA.
  • A broad understanding of product development, backlog management, and project management.
  • Experience working with tools such as Rhapsody, Stateflow, and Simulink.
