About the Role

A full time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) position in a primary school based in Wigan. The role starts in September and is initially on a temporary basis with a strong potential to become permanent.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre planned lessons across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.
• Cover classes independently to support teachers during PPA time or short term absences.
• Manage classroom behaviour to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
• Adapt to different year groups quickly and seamlessly.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and class teachers to provide feedback on pupil progress.

Qualifications and Skills

• Formal HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience or teaching qualification).
• Confident classroom presence with excellent behaviour management skills.
• Flexibility, resilience and a positive "can do" attitude.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build quick rapport with pupils and staff.
• A deep commitment to supporting children of all learning abilities.
