History Teacher - Nottingham (QTS Required)

Location: Nottingham

Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Start Date: Immediate / January 2027

Pay Rate: £130-£230 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Qualification: QTS required

Experience: Minimum 6 months' teaching experience in a UK secondary school

Overview

Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected secondary school in Nottingham to recruit a dedicated History Teacher for a position starting immediately or in January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled History educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students at KS3, KS4, and potentially History KS5. Nottingham schools offer supportive Humanities faculties with a strong emphasis on critical thinking and debate.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver the KS3 & KS4 History curriculum, with KS5 teaching available if experienced in Nottingham
• Plan, prepare, and assess History lessons in line with department policy
• Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions for source analysis and essay skills
• Contribute to History department improvement planning
• Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents' evenings as required

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has at least 6 months of classroom teaching History experience in a UK secondary setting
• Is passionate about History education and student achievement
• Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills
• Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life
