Job Description

Metis is looking for a Highways Engineer to provide technical support on our highways projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting pipeline of highways schemes, and a growing highways engineer team. To ensure these commissions are delivered to the highest quality standards, we are looking for an experienced Highways Engineer to assist with project delivery and project management.

This role will report to the Highway Engineering Team Lead, and take responsibility for production, review and submission of our medium-to-large projects.

The ideal Highways Engineer candidate will have experience delivering medium to large projects within Highways Engineering and the Public Realm. They will provide quality design outputs, focus on health and safety, and consider sustainability in their day-to-day duties. They will be a team player, and committed to supporting the development of graduate engineers.

KEY OBJECTIVES

The Highways Engineer will cover:

  • Production, review and submission of Highways Engineering projects
  • CDM 2015 Responsibilities
  • Delivery on medium to large projects
  • Support project and commercial management
  • Client and stakeholder management
  • Support the technical leadership of Highways Engineering projects
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • At least two years' experience in highway or public realm design
  • Competency with Microsoft Office, CAD and Civil 3D
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects
  • Experience in supporting junior team members, helping them to produce exceptional outputs
  • Ability to integrate into a team and consult with clients and stakeholders
  • Proven track record in delivering projects on time and on budget
