Job Description

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a leading consultancy in Nottinghamshire as a Highway Maintenance Engineer. The role involves delivering highway engineering projects and providing specialist engineering services to enhance and maintain the road network.

What you will be doing:
  1. Design and manage highway-related construction and maintenance projects, ensuring quality, programme, and financial targets are met, and stakeholder requirements are fulfilled.
  2. Provide specialist design, technical, and cost advice to support the delivery of complex projects.
  3. Evaluate and authorize externally designed engineering schemes to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  4. Collaborate with the Construction and Commercial Division to support company objectives in productivity and profit.
  5. Adhere to health and safety legislation, policies, and best practices to safeguard staff, contractors, and the public.
  6. Manage communication and liaison with clients and stakeholders to facilitate project delivery and uphold the company's reputation.
What you need to know:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, with relevant experience or equivalent practical knowledge.
  • Strong ICT skills and knowledge of engineering design software and data management.
  • Knowledge of highway and civil engineering standards, contracts, and procedures.
  • Understanding of health and safety, traffic management legislation, and good practices.
  • Experience in project implementation from feasibility to construction.
  • Personal drive, commitment to customer care, and leadership qualities.
  • Full UK driving license.
