Job overview This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the RLHIM, Europe's largest public-sector provider of integrated medicine. We provide an innovative patient-centred service integrating the best of conventional and complimentary approaches. This role forms an integral part of our Chronic Fatigue, and Fibromyalgia pathways, delivering a range of self-care strategies for patients with complex needs living with these ongoing conditions. Your role will involve unsupervised lone working, so we expect you to be confident and highly experienced.

Main duties of the job You will work alongside several specialists including consultants, physiotherapists, cognitive behavioural psychotherapists, a dietitian, autogenic trainers and a mindfulness practitioner. Appointments are currently delivered face-to-face, via telephone or video consultation on an outpatient basis. This could include working from home.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Occupational Therapist with excellent communication skills and an innovative and flexible approach. You will bring the skills you have acquired elsewhere in the NHS to deliver both group and 1:1 sessions, focused on self-care strategies, to your patients. We will provide in-house 1:1 and peer supervision. The successful candidate will also attend regular multidisciplinary team meetings.

Person specification Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current HCPC Registration
  • Membership of RCOT
  • Post graduate qualification in specialist area at a Master's ore equivalent level in Chronic Pain and Fatigue Management
Experience
  • Experience of using highly specialist occupational therapy skills to treat ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia in line with NICE and RCOT guidelines
  • Experience of working within an MDT setting
  • Experience using patient-reported outcome measures
  • Experience of supervising students
  • Experience of managing own caseload effectively
  • Previous experience of audit and/or service evaluation
  • Experience of developing group based programmes
Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced skills in the assessment and treatment of patients with complex, chronic multi pathologies in line with NICE and RCOT guidelines
  • Advanced clinical reasoning and problem solving strategies
  • Competent in use of IT programmes: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, email and EPIC (electronic patient record system)
  • Able to work well in an MDT
  • Ability to prioritise own workload, good time management skills and able to work under pressure
