Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist

An exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist Band 7 to join the Paediatric Psychosocial Service (PPS), part of Manchester University Hospitals NHS Trust (MFT) CAMHS which sits within the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
This is a brilliant opportunity for dedicated mental healthcare professionals to promote and improve the mental health and well being of children and young people with physical health conditions and those who care for them.
We provide inpatient and outpatient support to patients with a wide range of physical health conditions on a local, regional, national and international basis. Working for the Paediatric Psychosocial Service at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, you'll work with children and young people aged up to 18 years and their families who present with a wide range of complex emotional and behavioural difficulties associated with physical health conditions.
You will be supported to manage a defined caseload and have the responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of children and young people. Roles also include consultation and liaison with medical teams.
Applications will also be accepted from Band 7 Clinical Psychologists with experience of working therapeutically in a cancer context to consider a development role.
Responsibilities- Providing evidence based psychological assessment
- Helping to establish and develop the clinical psychology service
- Contributing to MDT care planning and review
- Contributing to audit and research
- Accredited post graduate qualification in Clinical Psychology
- Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) (or qualification pending)
- Post qualification experience of working within the fields of paediatric, adolescent or adult health psychology
- a. Significant and demonstrable experience of working as a specialist clinical psychologist in neuropsychology.
- b. Direct experience of administration of neuropsychological tests and their interpretation.
- c. Experience of data pathways and follow up.
- d. Experience with children and adolescents / adults with health conditions.
- e. Experience of assessing and managing risk in a therapeutic setting.
- f. Experience of multi disciplinary teamwork and consulting with health care and other professionals.
- g. Experience of teaching, training, and professional and clinical supervision.
- a. Experience of developing services.
- b. Cultural competence.
- c. Experience of staff support in MDTs.
- a. Skills in use of complex psychological assessment and intervention in children and families/adult health care service users.
- b. Ability to represent psychology in MDT care.
- c. Ability to cope with stressful interpersonal situations.
- d. Skills in database management and Excel.
- a. Experience in designing, planning and undertaking research.
- b. Evidence of CPD.
- a. Experience of teaching, training and supervision of assistants and trainees.
- b. Experience of teaching, training and supervision of non psychology staff.
