High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Beddington Park Primary School, CroydonRole: High Level Teaching AssistantPay: Paid to Scale Contract: Full-time - Fixed Term for the Full Academic YearStart Date: September 2026

The Supply Register is proud to be working in partnership with Step Academy Trust. We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join Beddington Park Primary School on a full-time basis for the academic year, starting in September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and proactive HLTA who has experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The successful candidate will provide targeted one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs while also working closely with the class teacher to support teaching and learning across the classroom when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality one-to-one support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), adapting learning to meet individual needs.
  • Deliver planned interventions and learning activities to support pupil progress.
  • Work alongside the class teacher to support the delivery of engaging lessons and classroom activities.
  • Cover lessons and lead learning when required, in line with the responsibilities of an HLTA.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCO as appropriate.
Requirements
  • HLTA qualification - essential.
  • Previous experience working as an HLTA within a UK primary school.
  • Proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including delivering effective one-to-one support.
  • Confidence in supporting pupils with a range of additional learning and behavioural needs.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • A caring, patient, and flexible approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
