Who are we looking for?We currently have a variety of positions available within our dynamic consultancy teams to support our growing business. We are explicitly looking for a person with a proven track record in providing safety support to high hazard facilities, who is looking to take their career to the next phase in a leadership position.
This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to act as Safeguard Engineering's lead for high hazard facilities, responsible for the continued delivery and future development of this sector. You will work closely with our Chief Operating Officer to align and manage resources, ultimately taking on Line Management and engineering lead responsibility for key technical staff. You will be responsible for the maintenance and delivery of current contract frameworks, and further development through continued relationship management and the realisation of new and emergent opportunities.
Key Attributes
- Circa 6 plus years working in high hazard facility industry within the UK defence sector;
- Detailed working knowledge of relevant regulations and standards including DSA03-OME (formally JSP 482), ER 2014, DSEAR, COSHH and Def Stan 00-056;
- Proven and recent experience of undertaking detailed hazard and risk analysis utilising such techniques as SWIFT, HAZOP, FMECA, FTA, etc.
- Proven track record in managing and delivering multiple concurrent technical projects;
- Proven track record in successfully delivering bids;
- Proven track record in developing and maintaining successful client relationships, securing enduring workstreams;
- High level of attention to detail.
Highly desirable
- Detailed knowledge of the commercial eco-system associated with the UK high hazard industry;
- Experience in securing and supporting management of framework agreements;
- Experience of staff management;
- Degree qualified in a relevant subject;
- Chartered engineer, Member/ Fellow of a relevant professional institution.
You will have a smart, professional approach and will be able to fit quickly into a growing team. You will need to provide clients with a high level of assurance that they are being supported by a professional, responsible and caring consultancy. You will have excellent communication skills, with a high standard of English and grammar, supported with a sound technical engineering background. You will need to be highly effective in organising your own time and workload, especially when working from home.
Due to the nature of the work, you must be able to obtain UK security clearance.

Your work can be based at any of our offices, as well as partial home working.Outside of attendance at internal meetings there will be a requirement for regular attendance at client sites.
