HGV Fitter (Full-Time)

Hybrid - North West England

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation for an experienced HGV Fitter to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional looking for long-term stability, strong earning potential, and career progression.

Working Hours
  • Monday to Friday
  • 6:45am - 5:15pm (10-hour shifts)
  • Overtime and weekend work available as required
The Role

You will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a fleet of HGVs and plant machinery, ensuring all vehicles and equipment remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
  • Carry out scheduled servicing (e.g. brakes, oil, filters)
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
  • Support junior team members and apprentices
  • Adhere to all health & safety standards
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience as an HGV Fitter
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Confident using diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Full UK driving licence (HGV licence required)
  • Valid Driver CPC
  • Flexibility for overtime and call-outs
