Duties of the HGV Technician role include:
  • Servicing, maintenance, and repair of HGVs and LCVs
  • Preparing vehicles for MOT testing and presenting them accordingly
  • Completing six-week safety inspections and scheduled servicing
  • Diagnosing faults using modern workshop diagnostic equipment
  • Conducting mechanical and cosmetic repairs
  • Carrying out warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
  • Replacing and fitting vehicle components efficiently and safely
  • Providing breakdown support when required
  • Maintaining accurate workshop and compliance documentation
  • Working in line with DVSA and company standards
Requirements for the HGV Technician position:
  • Proven experience working on HGVs within a commercial fleet environment
  • Experience working on LCVs is advantageous
  • City & Guilds Commercial Vehicle qualification or equivalent preferred
  • HGV licence is beneficial but not essential
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Hardworking, reliable, and well-organised
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication skills and team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop setting
