HGV Technician

Pertemps Warrington is recruiting an HGV Technician for a permanent, full-time role in Warrington, with a salary of £20.00 to £23.00 per hour depending on experience. The role demands strong diagnostic abilities, a sound understanding of vehicle compliance, and meticulous record-keeping. You will work independently and as part of a professional team, ensuring all vehicles operate safely and reliably.

Pay: £20.00 - £23.00 per hour (DOE) Location: WA3, Warrington Contract: Permanent

Duties of an HGV Technician

• Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and scheduled maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections in line with DVSA standards.
• Complete repairs including brakes, suspension, steering, and other general maintenance.
• Accurately complete job cards and maintenance documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Maintain a clean and organised working environment.

Requirements of an HGV Technician

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
• Good understanding of DVSA standards and compliance requirements.
• NVQ Level 3 City & Guilds would be desirable.
• A positive attitude and strong attention to detail.
• Full UK Driving licence.
• HGV licence is desirable but not essential.

Hours of work

Week 1 - Monday to Friday 06:00 - 14:00

Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 14:00 - 22:00 & Friday 14:00 - 20:00

Alternative Saturdays 06:00 - 12:00 (paid at time and a half)
