HGV Mechanic - Inverness

Salary circa £40k. 32 days holiday (including bank holidays). Core hours Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Overview

My client is a well-established commercial vehicle dealership and service centre seeking experienced HGV Mechanics to join their workshop team. The role covers a broad range of work, from routine servicing and inspections through to advanced diagnostics, engine repairs, and MOT preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and safety inspections on HGVs
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults
• Undertake engine repairs, gearbox work, and driveline repairs
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure compliance with DVSA standards
• Complete all job cards and workshop documentation accurately
• Work to manufacturer guidelines and workshop health & safety standards
• Support junior technicians where required

Requirements

• Previous experience as an HGV / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic
• Relevant qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred)
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous but not essential)
