Herdsperson job in North Yorkshire

We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic individual to join a small friendly team on our family farm near Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

• 130 cows + followers + store cattle.
• Lely robotic milkers with grazing, robotic slurry scraper and robotic silage pusher
• New calf shed
• All year round calving, except Christmas
• Forward thinking business committed to continual improvement.

Candidates must

• Have previous experience of Dairy farming
• Have a full driving license
• Ideally be able to DIY AI and Hoof trim, although training can be provided.

We sell our milk via Arla Welfare Pro + Grazing contract. Therefore high standards are to be maintained and where possible improved.

The successful candidate will

• Be responsible for the day to day management and care of the Dairy herd
• Maintaining high standards of animal welfare and cleanliness
• Achieve successful AI results
• Plan for and meet all necessary hygiene standards
• Assist with profitably increasing production
• Basic maintenance of robots and dairy hygiene
• Rear calves and Youngstock
