We are seeking a Health Informatics Solutions Specialist to play a central role in the growth of Medical Supply Company's Health Informatics business.

This role is responsible for leading customer engagement and commercial activity across Health Informatics, working in close partnership with healthcare organisations as they navigate technology, data, and digital transformation challenges.

The Health Informatics Solutions Specialist operates as a trusted point of contact for customers, shaping opportunities, guiding solution selection, and ensuring that proposed solutions are appropriate, sustainable, and aligned with both customer need and MSC capability.

Success in the role requires building trusted relationships while actively progressing opportunities through to commercial outcomes, ensuring a consistent and sustainable sales pipeline.

Scope of the role

The Health Informatics Solutions Specialist has responsibility for customer engagement and opportunity development across MSC's Health Informatics portfolio, including:

  • Information Management Systems

  • Integration and middleware solutions

  • Data rescue and legacy system migration

  • Digitisation and scanning solutions

  • Bedside, point of care, and workflow enabling technologies across acute, primary care, and home care settings

The role supports customers across the island of Ireland, spanning public, voluntary, and private healthcare providers.

The role works closely with the Health Informatics team to develop, progress, and convert opportunities into commercial outcomes for customers.

Key Responsibilities Leadership in customer engagement
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers engaging with MSC on Health Informatics solutions

  • Lead structured conversations with customers to understand clinical workflows, operational challenges, data risks, and strategic objectives

  • Guide customers through technology options while progressing decisions toward clear outcomes

  • Establish MSC as a trusted partner in customers' Health Informatics journey, not simply a solution supplier

Commercial ownership and opportunity development
  • Identify, develop, and actively progress Health Informatics opportunities aligned with customer priorities and MSC strategy

  • Lead opportunities from early engagement through to successful commercial agreement and close

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to prepare proposals, quotations, and tender responses

  • Maintain clarity around scope, assumptions, responsibilities, and constraints

  • Build, manage, and convert a realistic, deliverable pipeline grounded in operational feasibility

  • Take ownership of achieving agreed commercial targets and maintaining a strong, active pipeline

Cross-functional coordination
  • Work closely with the Health Informatics Solutions Architect to ensure technical feasibility and appropriate solution design

  • Engage with Marketing, Quality, and Accounts to align promotional content, appropriate clinical guideline adherence and commercial intent

  • Ensure disciplined handover from opportunity through to delivery and support phases

  • Act as a focal point for resolving pre sales and early engagement issues

Market, governance, and domain understanding
  • Maintain a working understanding of the Irish healthcare landscape and its operational and regulatory context

  • Understand and articulate the importance of data protection, cybersecurity, and information governance in healthcare settings

  • Stay informed of developments in Health Informatics, digital health, and information management systems relevant to MSC customers

  • Represent MSC professionally at customer meetings, workshops, and industry engagements

  • Identify unmet customer needs and feed structured insights back into product, service, and market development

Candidate Profile Essential
  • Experience working within healthcare, health informatics, laboratory, clinical, or healthcare IT environments

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage colleagues and stakeholders and explain technical or operational concepts clearly

  • Demonstrated ability to build trust based professional relationships across teams or organisations

  • Interest in developing into a commercially focused or customer facing role

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Ability to work across technical, operational, and commercial considerations

  • Professional, pragmatic, and people focused approach

  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel

Desirable
  • Experience with Health Informatics, healthcare IT systems, integration, or interoperability

  • Exposure to hospital, laboratory, or clinical workflows

  • Experience working with or alongside vendors, suppliers, or external partners

  • Awareness of procurement or tender processes in healthcare

  • Familiarity with data management, digitisation, or system lifecycle challenges

  • Interest in business development, solution design, or commercial strategy

This role may particularly suit candidates who:

  • Currently work in a hospital, laboratory, or healthcare IT environment

  • Have experience with systems, workflows, or integrations

  • Enjoy problem solving and working with stakeholders
