Health and Social Care Lecturer

Reed Further Education are currently recruiting for a Teacher of Health & Social Care on behalf of a Further Education provider in Derby. This is a full-time temporary opportunity starting on 31st August 2026 and running until 1st March 2027, providing maternity cover within a successful Health & Social Care department.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching to Health & Social Care students across Levels 2 and 3, supporting learners to achieve their academic goals while creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Health & Social Care lessons to Level 2 and Level 3 learners.
• Plan, prepare and assess learning activities in line with curriculum requirements.
• Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to departmental quality standards.
• Support students in achieving positive outcomes and progression opportunities.

Requirements

• Degree in a Health & Social Care-related subject.
• Previous teaching, training or lecturing experience within Further Education, Secondary Education or a similar setting.
• Ability to engage and motivate learners from a range of backgrounds.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• A clinical background would be highly desirable.

Assignment Details

• Start Date: 31st August 2026
• End Date: 1st March 2027
• Hours: 37 per week
• Rate: £28.00 - £30.00 per hour
• Location: Derby
• Contract Type: Temporary
