Job Description

An exciting opportunity for an experiencedHealth and Safety Managerto join aleading retailer's distribution centre in Mitchelstown, Cork. You will be responsible for 2 sites in Mitchelstown and Naas. Travel to the Naas site will be also required as needed.

As Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for leading a small team of Health and Safety Specialists and you will be overseeing the implementation of the health and safety strategy across two sites.This position is offered on a 15-month fixed-term contract.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Senior Health & Safety Manager, you will ensure compliance with health and safety, fire safety, food safety, and trading legislation.

  • Lead and manage a team of Health and Safety Specialists operating across two regions.

  • Provide strategic direction for the implementation of the company's health and safety standards across all operational areas.

  • Chair and lead health and safety working groups and projects to promote best practices and consistency across the business.

  • Oversee the company's response to enforcement actions or regulatory interventions within the designated regions.

  • Conduct thorough investigations into serious accidents and incidents, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the Health and Safety Authority.

  • Coordinate ongoing reviews of national documentation to ensure alignment with Irish regulatory requirements.

Role Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience in a similar role.

  • NEBOSH Diploma qualified or holds a similar relevant degree level qualification in H&S or Environmental Health.

  • Experience in managing and coaching a team of health and safety professionals.

  • Ideally experience within H&S in Retail, Logistics or Food Safety

  • Strong understanding of Irish health and safety legislation.

  • You have a full and valid driving licence.
