Job Description
At Elk Recruitment, we are looking for a driven Health and Safety Coordinator to join our client's growing team based in Kildare. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to make a real impact in an innovative and growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the preparation and coordination of Preliminary Health & Safety Plans for construction projects.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor health and safety compliance.
- Identify hazards and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate project records.
- Liaise with architects, design teams, contractors, and clients on health and safety matters.
- Support the Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) team in fulfilling statutory duties.
- Assist in the review of contractor documentation, including risk assessments and method statements.
- Monitor compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of health and safety procedures and practices.
- Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of construction health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Strong organisational and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
- Experience in construction, architectural practice, engineering consultancy, or health and safety coordination.
- Familiarity with PSDP duties and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations.
- Membership of a recognised health and safety professional body.
