Health & Safety Consultant

ORS has a dedicated health and safety management team that complements our multidisciplinary approach and demonstrates our commitment to comprehensive service provision.
We are seeking a health and safety consultant to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will undertake the Project Supervisor for the Design Process (PSDP) function for, and on behalf of ORS.
You will be responsible for discharging PSDP duties on multiple construction projects in addition to overseeing implementation of our clients other health and safety obligations across a range of project types, including residential, commercial, industrial, logistics, leisure, retail and healthcare.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake the PSDP role across a multitude of construction projects.
- Manage dedicated projects, including financial oversight.
- Work with designers to identify, eliminate or reduce hazards from the earliest stages.
- Prepare the Preliminary Health & Safety Plan, Stage Reports and the final Safety File.
- Ensure all design aspects meet legal H&S requirements, advising clients on competence.
- Promote safety in design, manage design team cooperation and communicate risks.
- Conduct site audits and contribute to safety improvement.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of Team documentation to inc. Fee bids, Tenders and General Administrative requirements.
- Relevant third level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, engineering or construction / project management qualification with demonstrated relevant PSDP industry experience.
- Preferably at least 2-4 years of post-graduate experience working in a consultancy setting undertaking the role of PSDP.
- IOSH membership or in the process of joining a professional organisation representing your profession.
- Self motivation and proactive in a dynamic project environment.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent communication and IT skills.
- Excellent people management and project execution capability.
- Full clean driving license.
