Working closely with the Utilities business unit to ensure that H&S best practices are fully embedded into each operational area. Encouraging others to fully own H&S and supporting them to make the right decisions by providing professional H&S advice.
This is a hybrid role involving remote work on key projects, attending site meetings with customers and contractors, working on build sites, and attending meetings at Arqiva offices. The candidate must be based in the East of England (Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Essex, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire) due to frequent interaction with our customers.

Role Purpose:
Ensure H&S best practices are embedded into all activities at the business unit level to minimize risk of harm.
Key Accountabilities:
- Build effective relationships with customers, contractors, and stakeholders to embed safety into business practices
- Partner with leaders to integrate safety into daily operations and foster a culture of safety ownership
- Maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Challenge working methods and decisions to manage H&S risks
- Attend site visits and meetings to ensure H&S expectations are met
- Provide expert advice and support training/coaching as needed
- Facilitate risk assessments for new projects and technologies
- Lead investigations for incidents and high-potential events
- Use performance data to drive improvements
- Lead working groups on H&S challenges and procedures
- Prioritize work orders and communicate effectively
- Ensure ISO45001 compliance
- Support new work mobilizations
- Own and lead on key risk areas with expertise in at least one
Desired Knowledge & Experience:
- Grad member IOSH or working towards
- NEBOSH Diploma or working towards
- Knowledge of CDM, StreetWorks, Working at height, electrical, and asbestos hazards
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and assess risks
- Influencing and engagement skills
- Experience in utilities, construction, or telecoms industry
- Contractor & subcontractor management experience
- Excellent presentation skills
- Additional security clearance and a driving license are required
