EHS International is placing a Health & Safety Advisor into a specialist aviation environment on a 3-5 year contract role - guaranteed work pipeline, embedded role, and a level of operational depth that's difficult to find in the open contracting market. Behind this placement is EHS International's track record as one of Ireland's most established EHS consultancies, founded by Chris Mee, with a specialist peer network and a performance share scheme that rewards long-term contribution.
You will work embedded within a large aviation organisation, supporting their Occupational Health & Safety Management System across a technically complex, high-consequence operational environment. The scope covers the full OHS function: risk management, incident investigation, safety training, audit support, and continuous improvement of an ISO 45001-aligned safety management system.
- Lead and support workplace risk assessments, identifying control measures suited to aviation and ground operations
- Monitor operational activities and safe systems of work; record, analyse, and track incidents, near misses, and hazards
- Investigate accidents and incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and develop corrective and preventive actions - then ensure close-out and deliver lessons-learned briefings
- Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and operational safety training across all levels of the organisation
- Prepare safety performance reports and communicate trends to management
- Support internal and external OHS audits and contribute to ongoing improvement of the OHSMS
You will join a wider specialist network of EHS professionals, with peer support, CPD backing, and a share scheme that reflects the value you bring over the long term.
- QQI Level 8 Higher Diploma in Safety, Health & Welfare at Work or recognised equivalent (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma)
- Minimum 2-3 years of OHS experience in a technical, industrial, engineering, or aviation environment
- Sound working knowledge of Irish OHS legislation, risk assessment methodology, and hazard identification
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 or equivalent OHS Management System frameworks (desirable)
- Training in accident/incident investigation methodologies (desirable)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills - report writing, stakeholder engagement, and management briefings
- Full clean driving licence
- Eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland; must be clearable for access to a Defence Forces facility
