About the OpportunityOccupli is recruiting on behalf of a leading multinational manufacturing organisation for two experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Advisors to support a critical plant shutdown project. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing project team during a planned shutdown, ensuring all contractor activities are completed safely, compliantly and efficiently. The successful candidates will work in a job-sharing arrangement, providing full EHS coverage throughout the shutdown period.
Key Responsibilities- Provide onsite EHS support throughout the planned shutdown.
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with site safety procedures and statutory requirements.
- Support the implementation and administration of the site's Permit to Work (PTW) system.
- Review and verify Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) prior to commencement of works.
- Support PSCS (Project Supervisor Construction Stage) responsibilities throughout the shutdown activities.
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits and behavioural safety observations.
- Promote safe working practices and intervene where unsafe acts or conditions are identified.
- Participate in toolbox talks, contractor briefings and daily coordination meetings.
- Investigate incidents, near misses and safety observations where required.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and reports.
- Liaise effectively with site management, contractors and project stakeholders to ensure safe project delivery.
We are seeking motivated EHS professionals who are confident working in fast-paced operational or construction environments and who possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements- Primary Degree in Engineering or Science specialising in Occupational Health & Safety, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years' relevant EHS experience.
- Experience supporting contractor management activities.
- Knowledge of Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
- Experience reviewing and working with RAMS.
- Understanding of PSCS responsibilities.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a project team.
- Experience gained in one or more of the following sectors: Pharmaceutical manufacturing, Chemical manufacturing, Manufacturing, Construction, Process industry or regulated environments.
Successful candidates will receive comprehensive site-specific induction and training, including:
- Permit to Work procedures.
- Internal shutdown systems and site requirements.
